LD50 definition

LD50 means the median lethal dose of a chemical, which is the amount of a test material per body weight that, when administered, results in fifty percent (50%) mortality to the organisms during a specified time period.
LD50 means a dose of a substance that produces death in 50 per cent of a population of experimental animals. It is usually expressed as milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) of body weight.
LD50 means the median lethal dose which is the sta- tistical estimate of the dosage of a substance necessary to kill 50% of an infinite population of test animals as determined from expo- sure to the substance, by any route other than inhalation, of a sig- nificant number from that population.
