Lateral Entry Applicant means a certified peace officer with previous law enforcement experience who applies for employment with the Department under the Department’s Lateral Entry Program.

A Lateral Entry Applicant shall have served in one or more positions where he or she had the authority to enforce laws, investigate crimes, make arrests, respond to calls for service, carry a firearm, and use discretion as part of the Lateral Entry Applicant’s assigned duties.
