Early Morning Shifts start between 04:00 and 05:59 Day Shifts start between 06:00 and 09:59 Afternoon Shifts start between 10:00 and 15:59 Night Shift starts between 16:00 and 23:59 Late Night Shift starts between 24:00 and 03:59 An employee must prioritize all five (5) Shift Types.
In addition to Clause 10 (c) of the Police Officers Award, any shift finishing after 2.30am but before 12noon shall be regarded as a Late Night Shift for the purposes of this Agreement.
Employees working the Late Night Shift, (10:00 p.m. – 4:15 a.m.) shall be compensated by an additional fifty cents ($.50) per hour.
In addition to Clause 10 (c) of the Police Officers Award, any shift finishing after 2.30 am but before 12 noon, will be regarded as a Late Night Shift for the purposes of this Agreement.
The following rate will apply to a Late Night Shift: • In lieu of the rate of 15 per cent in Clause 11 (a) of the Police Officers Award, shift workers, excluding Officers of Police, whilst on Late Night Shift will, for work in ordinary time, be paid an additional payment at the rate of 25 per cent of the rates prescribed by this Agreement.
The following rate will apply to a Late Night Shift: • In lieu of the rate of 15 per centum in Clause 11(a) of the Police Officers Award, shift workers whilst on Late Night Shift shall for work in ordinary time be paid an additional payment at the rate of 25 per centum of the rates prescribed by this Agreement.
Differential: Changes in differential pay including Late Night Shift, Saturday, bus washing duties, call-in pay and shift premium take effect the month following the ratification of this agreement.
An employee will not be scheduled for a day shift following a Late Night Shift unless there is a minimum of nine (9) hours between the scheduled end time of the Late Night Shift and the scheduled start time of the Day Shift, and provided the shift meets all provisions set out in the Employment Standards Act (Ontario).
