Lasting definition

Lasting means attaching the lasting margin (i.e. the lower edge of an upper) by means of tacks and/or adhesives to the insole, which can be considered as the constructive backbone of footwear, although it is not at all visible on the final product. Lasting is one of the crucial operations in footwear production. Depending on the construction method, the lasting proceedings can differ.
Lasting is greater than 1 year and the offended party issues a letter giving 60 days notice and the issue or breach or default is not cured within the additional 90 day period.
Lasting means that it must be permanent in the sense that it can not be easily removed. “Improvement” is objectively determined by a judge.

  • This Agreement forms part of the Agreement on a Firm and Lasting Peace and shall enter in force on the day when the latter is signed.
