Katy definition

Katy means Katy Industries, Inc., a Delaware corporation.
Katy or the "Company") was organized as a Delaware corporation in 1967. Katy carries on business through two principal operating groups: Electrical/Electronics and Maintenance Products. The other businesses comprise only a portion of Katy's previously reported Distribution and Service Group and one of Katy's equity investments. The operations of these businesses have been reported as "Equity in income (loss) of operations to be disposed of" in the Consolidated Statements of Operations. See Note 5 to Consolidated Financial Statements for further discussion. Each Katy company operates within a framework of broad policies and corporate goals established by Katy's corporate management, which is responsible for overall planning, financial management, acquisitions, dispositions, and other related administrative and corporate matters. On January 8, 1999, the Company purchased all of the common membership interest in Contico International, L.L.C., a Delaware limited liability company ("Contico") and the successor to the business of Contico International Inc. Contico, based in St. Louis, Missouri, manufactures and distributes consumer storage, home and automotive products, as well as janitorial and food service equipment and supplies, with annual sales of approximately $223.0 million. See Note 4 to Consolidated Financial Statements.
