JAR-OPS definition

JAR-OPS means “Joint Aviation Requirements - Operations” and consists of two Parts - JAR-OPS Part 1 refers to Aeroplanes and JAR-OPS Part 3 to Helicopters;

  • Each aircraft (including the aircraft engine, propeller, rotor, or appliance) must be accompanied by logbooks and maintenance records equivalent to those specified in EASA Part 145 and Part M and applicable operations regulations (Joint Aviation Requirements (JAR)-OPS 1.920 (for airplanes) or JAR-OPS 3.920 (for rotorcraft) or its successor EU regulation).

  • This Specification will require modification during initial completion definition if the airplane is to be exported to a country other than the United States and/or if certification for commercial operations is required (JAR-OPS 1 for example).

  • Each aircraft, including the aircraft engine, propeller, rotor, or appliance, must be accompanied by maintenance records equivalent to either JAR-OPS 1.920 (for airplanes) or JAR-OPS 3.920 (for rotorcraft).

  • Technical records must retained for the life of the relevant fleet of aircraft plus two years and in accordance with JAR-OPS 1.920.

  • Part 145 and Part M and applicable operations regulations (Joint Aviation Requirements (JAR)-OPS 1.920 (for airplanes) or JAR-OPS 3.920 (for rotorcraft) or its successor EU regulation).
