Jailbroken definition

Jailbroken or ‘rooted’ device means that the operating system installed on the device by the manufacturer has been modified by a party other than the manufacturer or outside the manufacturer’s allowances.
Jailbroken devices are not permitted on the school network for security purposes. Security solutions have been implemented to alert the school if a jailbroken device is detected on the network. If an iPad is discovered to be jailbroken at a later stage then it will not be able to be used at school until it is restored to its original state.
Jailbroken devices—that is, devices that have had changes made to the OS operating system—may not be used at GMAA. Attempts to jailbreak a school-owned device will be treated as vandalism. Personal devices that have been “jailbroken” are not permitted on the school network.
