Intrinsic error definition

Intrinsic error means the Error of a measuring instrument, determined under reference conditions. 3.19 “Absolute error of measurement” is the result of a measurement minus the conventional true value of the measurand. 3.20 “Relative error” means the absolute error of measurement divided by the conventional true value of the measurand. 3.21 “Fault” means the difference between the error of indication and the intrinsic error of the instrument. 3.22 “Significant fault” means a fault, the magnitude of which is greater than the magnitude of the maximum permissible error on initial verification.
