Internal Research and Development definition

Internal Research and Development means either Research; Applied Research; Development; and Systems and Other Concept Formulation Studies, as defined below. The term Internal Research and Development does not include any of these four areas that are required in the performance of a contract or sponsored by a grant.
Internal Research and Development means the internal use of Imaging Systems by employees and contractors of a party to this Agreement only for research and development.

  • Research and development means (1) theoretical analysis, exploration, or experimentation; or (2) the extension of investigative findings and theories of a scientific or technical nature into practical application for experimental and demonstration purposes, including the experimental production and testing of models, devices, equipment, materials, and processes. Research and development does not include the internal or external administration of radiation or radioactive material to human beings.
