Interim Appointment definition

Interim Appointment means the appointment of an employee or individual to a classification in the City service on an interim basis.
Interim Appointment means a short-term appointment made from an eligible list. LAY-OFF – Shall mean the involuntary, non-disciplinary separation of an employee from a position resulting from lack of work, lack of funds or abolishment of a position.
Interim Appointment. The temporary appointment of a negotiations unit employee to another position for which no regular incumbent exists (e.g. vacant position or position which has not previously existed), due to the business needs of the school or operating unit.

Examples of Interim Appointment in a sentence

  • Bargaining unit members may be temporarily assigned to perform duties from a higher classification, subject to, but not limited to, the following circumstances: o Leave Replacement – Duration of the leave o Active Recruitment/Replacement – Up to ninety (90) calendar days o Backfill resulting from Interim Appointment – Until permanently filled, not to exceed two (2) years.

  • However, the Interim Appointment unless may be earlier terminated in accordance with Paragraph 4 below, or as otherwise modified by mutual written agreement between Employee and the City Council.

  • City and Employee now desire to enter into this Third Amendment to amend the Second Amendment and extend the Interim Appointment term for up to an additional six (6) months, for a new end date of October 3, 2024, at 5:30 p.m., or until the permanent city manager is in place, as approved by the City Council on March 20, 2024.
