Inerrancy definition

Inerrancy means that the Bible is without error. The premise being that if the Bible is superintended and inspired by God, it therefore cannot err. That the Bible is inerrant and authoritative does not necessarily mean that every part of the Bible is to be taken “literally.” The Bible uses poetic language, such as describing Christians as “the salt of the earth.” This does not mean we are thrown out on the sidewalk to melt ice.
