Indigenous materials definition
Indigenous materials means any photograph, drawing, book, manuscript (including items associated with manuscript collections such as wax seals and awards), research or any other type of printed material (whether bound or not), recordings (audio and video), art, graphics (such as maps and illustrations), microfilm and digital mate- rial that documents or relates to the culture and language of native communities indigenous to the Americas. APS does not collect native artifacts, and therefore the term “indigenous materials,” as used in these Protocols, does not include artifacts.
