INCUMBENCY definition

INCUMBENCY is a concept that a JRPT may use as a part of its redeployment process. The JRPT may identify an employee as an incumbent only if the position meets the following criteria: substantially unchanged duties and responsibilities5; unchanged location1; unchanged hours of work; unchanged salary grade.

An employee may be identified as an incumbent only if the position meets the following criteria: the majority of the core functions/key accountabilities are the same7; unchanged location; unchanged hours of work; unchanged salary grade or where the salary grade increases as a result of the prospective addition of duties/accountabilities pursuant to Clause 66.3.1.c.
