ILW definition

ILW means radioactive waste, the radioactive content of which exceeds four (4) gigabecquerels per tonne of alpha activity or twelve (12) gigabecquerels per tonne of beta and/or gamma activity and which does not need heat to be taken into account in the design of disposal or storage facilities;
ILW. Means Intermediate Level Waste, Waste with activity levels above 20GBq/te beta/gamma or 4GBq/te alpha;
ILW means solid radioactive waste with an activity concentration greater than the maximum for LLW, but which does not require heating to be taken into account in the design of storage or disposal facilities.
