Identity assertion definition
Identity assertion means an electronic record originating with an identity provider and sent to a relying party that contains the subject’s identifier (e.g., name, account number, mobile number, location, etc.), authentication status, and applicable identity attributes. The attributes are typically personal and non-personal information about the subject that is relevant to the transaction required by the relying party.
