With the goal of eliminating dolphin mortality in this fishery, to seek ecologically sound means of capturing large yellowfin tunas not in association with dolphins; and 3. To ensure the long-term sustainability of the tuna stocks in the Agreement Area, as well as that of the living marine resources related to this fishery, taking into consideration the interrelationship among species in the ecosystem, with special emphasis on, inter alia, avoiding, reducing and minimizing bycatch and discards of juvenile tunas and non-target species. Article III.

Examples of IATTC in a sentence

  • The Commission shall forward that information to the IATTC Secretariat without delay.

  • The IATTC Director shall promptly publish this information in a secured part of the IATTC website.

  • The Commission shall forward that information to the IATTC Secretariat by 30 June.

  • A description of such programs should be provided to the IATTC Director which should publish it on the IATTC website.

  • Upon receiving the copy of the inspection report, the flag CPC shall promptly investigate the alleged infringement and notify the IATTC Director of the status of the investigation and of any enforcement action that may have been taken within 6 months of such receipt.

  • The IATTC Director shall promptly notify CPCs of any such change.

  • If the flag CPC cannot provide the IATTC Director this status report within 6 months of such receipt, the flag CPC should notify the IATTC within the 6 month time period the reasons for the delay and when the status report will be submitted.

  • The Director shall take any measure necessary to ensure publicity of the IATTC IUU Vessel List, in a manner consistent with any applicable confidentiality requirements, including placing it on the IATTC website.
