Hydrostatic head definition

Hydrostatic head or "hydrostatic pressure" means the pressure which exists at any point in the wellbore due to the weight of the column of fluid or gas above that point.
Hydrostatic head means the height of the free surface of a body of water above a given subsurface point or a reflection of the ground water level plus the pressure head.
