Hydraulic definition

Hydraulic means operated by the resistance offered or the pressure transmitted when a quantity of fluid (oil or water) is forced through a comparatively small orifice or through a tube.
Hydraulic means the behavior of water relative to the dam. It is the manner in which water in the reservoir is passed over or through the dam, via an outlet such as a spillway or low level outlet.
