Housing Breaks definition

Housing Breaks. Housing Breaks occur twice during the academic calendar where the dorm facilities are closed. All dorm students must leave their respective living units with all personal belongings for the duration of the summer and winter housing breaks. In extenuating circumstances, a dorm resident may request the approval of the Housing Director to be assigned a space during the housing break (charges are accrued), all requests must be submitted within established deadline to be considered. In extenuating circumstances, a dorm resident may request the approval of the Housing Director to be assigned a space during the housing break at rate of $200, all requests must be submitted within established deadline to be considered. Termination of Contract by Student: Students desiring to terminate their contracts prior to the beginning of the semester may do so in writing prior to move-in date. After move-in date, any student will be expected to fulfill the contract until the end of the academic year or be subject to the termination provisions as provided in the resident handbook. Cancellation requests must be made in writing and submitted in person. In the event the student is no longer an active student or residency is terminated, he/she must vacate the student housing within 72 hours.
