Housestaff definition

Housestaff means all physicians and dentists who are in recognized residency training programs sponsored by The University of North Carolina Hospitals. Housestaff are eligible for Medical Staff committee membership and for participation in Medical Staff conferences, seminars, and teaching programs.
Housestaff means an intern, resident, or fellow who is not an appointee to the Active Staff (as defined in Paragraph 9.4) and who is receiving post-graduate training at UAMS.
Housestaff means an intern, resident, or fellow who is not a member of the Medical Staff and who is receiving post-graduate training at UAMS in (1) a residency or fellowship accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education and sponsored by the UAMS College of Medicine, (2) a residency or fellowship accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and sponsored by the Center for Dental Education College of Health Professions, or (3) additional accrediting bodies approved by the Hospital Medical Board.

  • Whenever a holiday falls within a vacation period, the individual Housestaff Officer shall be entitled to an extra vacation day.

  • Except in the case of resignation for health or other reasons beyond the control of the Housestaff Officer, it is expected that he/she shall continue to serve the term of his/her appointment.

  • Failure to pass the first Licensing Examination shall not be the sole criterion for dismissal of a Housestaff Officer during the term of an individual contract.

  • Housestaff Officers shall not be routinely or regularly assigned to tasks which are clearly not within their normal responsibilities as Housestaff Officers.
