Hospital planning area (HPA or HPAs) definition

Hospital planning area (HPA or HPAs) means an individual geographic area designated by the DOH for which hospital medical / surgical acute care bed need projections are calculated. For the purposes of this chapter, “hospital planning area,” “planning area” and “service area” have the same meaning. See section 246‐310‐XXX to view a table of the HPAs.
