Holy Day definition

Holy Day means any day which is observed by a religious community (or celebrated in such a community by general attendance at a place of worship) and is prescribed as such for the purpose of this Act by an Order made by the Governor;

Examples of Holy Day in a sentence

  • Absence because of requirements of a teacher’s religion to observe his Sabbath or other Holy Day may be taken under provisions of the personal business leave, but such absence, not to exceed three (3) days, shall not be charged against the number of days allowed under such provisions.

  • In the event that a religious Holy Day for a member of a religious faith other than a Latin Rite Catholic falls on a school day, the teacher shall be granted a leave of absence.

  • If a paraprofessional is absent due to religious Holy Day, s/he shall suffer no loss of pay and such absence shall not be deducted from his/her excused absences.

  • The deacon shall perform the full and proper liturgical functions of a deacon at Sunday, Holy Day Liturgies, and at other liturgies such as baptisms, weddings, and funerals by mutual agreement with the ▇▇▇▇▇▇/Vicar.

Related to Holy Day

  • New York Business Day means each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday which is not a day on which banking institutions in New York City are generally authorized or obligated by law or executive order to close.
