High Power SCU definition

High Power SCU. One High Power SCU consumes twice the satellite capacity of one standard power SCU. Using high power levels and BPSK modulation, the percentage of available power in the transponder that is utilized by a High Power SCU is equal to two (2) times the percentage of available bandwidth in the transponder that is utilized by a SCU. A High Power SCU has a power density of not less than 9 dBW/4KHz and requires authorization from the FCC.
