HI Service means, for the purposes of this agreement, the healthcare identifiers service operated by the Chief Executive Medicare as the service operator under the Healthcare Identifiers ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇, and includes the administrative extensions to that service for the registration of Supporting Organisations by Human Services ‘Intermediary’ means an information technology provider that is a Relying Party and a Subscriber, and is engaged by a healthcare provider organisation for sending and receiving secure messages ‘▇▇▇▇ Directory’ means a directory on which Human Services or its outsourced service provider publishes Certificates concerning ▇▇▇▇ ‘OCSP Responder’ has the meaning provided in clause 2.

HI Service means, for the purposes of this agreement, the healthcare identifiers service operated by the Chief Executive Medicare as the service operator under the Healthcare Identifiers ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇, and includes the administrative extensions to that service for the registration of Supporting Organisations by Human Services ‘Intermediary’ means an information technology provider that is a Relying Party and a Subscriber, and is engaged by a healthcare provider organisation for sending and receiving secure messages ‘▇▇▇▇ Directory’ means a directory on which Human Services or its outsourced service provider publishes Certificates concerning ▇▇▇▇ ‘OCSP Responder’ has the meaning provided in clause 2 ‘Subscriber’ means the person that is the subscriber to, and the subject of, a Certificate ‘Subscriber Terms and Conditions’ has the meaning provided in clause 4, and references to documents are to the versions that are current from time to time. In consideration for the PKI facility provided by Human Services that enables the Relying Party to rely on Certificates, the Relying Party acknowledges the terms and conditions on which it may so rely on Certificates, and this agreement will bind the Relying Party when it first: relies upon a Certificate uses a Key attached to a Certificate authenticates a digital signature using a Key attached to a Certificate, or accesses the ▇▇▇▇ Directory, Certificate Revocation List or the Online Certificate Status Protocol Responder (OCSP Responder). This agreement will continue to bind the Relying Party if and for so long as it asserts any reliance upon a Certificate or digital signatures generated using Keys attached to a Certificate. If the Relying Party does not agree with the terms of this agreement it must not rely on a Certificate or a digital signature generated using a Key attached to a Certificate.

Examples of HI Service in a sentence

• The meaning of a Certificate issued under a Human Services Health Sector PKI Certificate Policy is nothing more and nothing less than a statement expressed in a digital format of the fact that the Subscriber is recorded as being registered with the HI Service.

• A Certificate does not represent or verify that: the Subscriber has a particular identity (i.e. is a particular organisation or individual) the Subscriber or any of its personnel have particular qualifications or registrations other than with the HI Service, or the Subscriber is registered with the My Health Record system.

• The States and Territories will obtain the prior agreement of the Ministerial Council for any legislative proposals in support of the introduction and/or implementation of the HI Service.

• New State and Territory legislation may be required, or amendments may be necessary to existing State and Territory legislation, to allow the implementation and operation of the HI Service in connection with public health systems as contemplated under this Schedule.

• The Parties will use their best endeavours to enact any necessary new or amended laws in a timely manner to enable the introduction and operation of the HI Service as contemplated by this Schedule.

• It is anticipated that the HI Service will commence operation on 1 July 2010.

• The HI Service will underpin the development of a nationally consistent electronic health system by removing technological and organisational impediments to the effective sharing of health information, resulting from poor patient and provider identification.

• G The parties acknowledge that this Licence Agreement is not intended to, and does not provide for Your use of the HI Service.

• The Healthcare Identifiers Act 2010 and the Healthcare Identifiers Regulations 2020 set the framework and rules for the HI Service.

• POLICY 7: The Healthcare Identifiers Service (HI Service) will have responsibility for management and sharing of healthcare provider identifier information for healthcare information management and communication purposes.

More Definitions of HI Service

HI Service means the services of: assigning, issuing and maintaining Healthcare Identifiers; and establishing and operating the Healthcare Identifiers Directory Service, and undertaking incidental tasks. HPI-O (Healthcare Provider Identifier - Organisation) means the unique identifier assigned to organisations that provide healthcare services in Australia. IHI (Individual Healthcare Identifier) means the unique identifier that is assigned to each individual consumer of healthcare services in Australia. HoTS means Heads of Treasuries.
