GENERAL PLAYING RULES (2017) The home team is responsible for field preparation of his/her game. The away team is encouraged to help with field preparation to promote sportsmanship, cooperation, and to start games on time. The home team is responsible for providing an Official Scorekeeper for the game. The home and visiting teams must clean up the field, dugout and bleacher area after each game. All teams shall report to the playing field regardless of weather, unless notified by the Safety Officer or League President or designee through their Manager. Canceled and suspended games shall be rescheduled by the League Presidents only. The home team Manager shall call the League President when a game is cancelled. The League President shall call the opposing team’s league and the Umpire Coordinator. If a ball strikes a defensive player above the shoulders, the ball is dead and the offensive player(s) may advance one base if, in the umpire’s judgment, they were attempting to advance at the time the player was struck.
