Hazardous substance/waste definition
Hazardous substance/waste means any garbage, refuse, sludge from a waste treatment plant, water supply treatment plant, or air pollution control facility, or other discarded materials, including solid, liquid, semisolid, or contained gaseous material, resulting from industrial, commercial, mining, and agricultural operations or from com- munity activities which because of its quantity, concentration of physical, chemical or infectious characteristics, may cause or significantly contribute to an increase in mortality or an increase serious irreversible or incapacitating revers- ible illness or pose a substantial present or potential hazard to human health or the environment if improperly treated, stored, transported, disposed of, or otherwise managed or any waste identified as hazardous pursuant to A.R.S. § 49- 922. “Hazardous substance or waste” means hazardous waste as defined in A.R.S. § 49-921(5).
