Guard member definition

Guard member means any person who is a member of the national guard.

  • Management will grant a leave of absence to a reservist or National Guard member for the period required to perform active duty for training (drills) in the Armed Forces of the United States.

  • The reservist or National Guard member will not lose Company Service time, bid or Pay Seniority as a result of the military absence.

  • Job rights are protected so long as the reservist or National Guard member receives orders for military training.

  • After completing the military training or drill exercise, the reservist or National Guard member must report back to his regularly scheduled shift.

  • The reservist or National Guard member does not need to have written training orders at the time of the request.

  • Because of a qualifying exigency arising out of the fact that the employee’s spouse, child or parent is a military reservist or National Guard member on active duty (or notified of an impending call for active duty) in support of a contingency operation.
