Granny Flat definition

Granny Flat means a building (or part of a building) capable of being treated as an independent household unit separate from the main residence, and includes a separate area integrated into the residential building for the accommodation of a close family relative or dependant. Any Granny Flat construction must comply with these Covenants.
Granny Flat means a physically separate dwelling unit placed on a residential lot that already has an existing dwelling sited on it. More Definitions of Granny Flat

Granny Flat. Means a dwelling unit not exceeding 70m² in floor area that may be erected on a “Residential 1” zoned erf in addition to the main dwelling unit, with the proviso that if a second dwelling unit has already been erected, no granny flat shall be permitted and vice versa. The granny flat may not be subdivided from the erf unless such subdivision is in line with the residential density policy provisions of the local municipality.

Granny Flat means a residential occupancy of an accessory dwelling unit located on the same parcel as the principal dwelling unit which is occupied by one or two adults, who have reached the age of 60, and are dependents of the residents of the primary unit, or are court­appointed conservatees of a resident of the principal unit, or are members of a very low income household as specified in Section 50105 of the Health and Safety Code and are related to the residents of principal unit by birth, marriage, or adoption. For the purposes of this section, “dependent” means a related individual who is dependent upon the resident of the principal unit for financial support or health care. An individual will be determined to be a financial dependent if claimed by the resident of the primary unit as a dependent on his or her federal or state income tax return. An individual will be determined to be a dependent for health care reasons if he or she is considered blind or disabled as defined in Section 1614 (a) of Title XVI of the Social Security Act.
Granny Flat means detached independent accommodation located on the same allotment as the main dwelling.
