Good Engineering & Design Practices definition
Good Engineering & Design Practices means the exercise of that degree of skill, diligence, prudence, foresight, and engineering & design practice taking into account Indian conditions, generally followed internationally by highly qualified, prudent professionals in similar industry including in the design, engineering, procurement, implementation, testing, commissioning etc in relation thereto; which in any such case should have been expected to accomplish the desired result at the lowest cost, consistent with licensing and regulatory considerations, environmental considerations, reliability, safety and expedition. Good Engineering & Design Practices is not intended to be limited to the optimum practice, method or act, to the exclusion of all others, but rather to be a spectrum of possible practices, methods or acts employed by owners and contractors.
