Genomics definition

Genomics means the functions and interactions of all human genes and their variation within human populations, including their interaction with environmental factors, and their contribution to health.
Genomics means the study of the total or part of the genetic or epigenetic sequence information of organisms and attempts to understand the structure and function of these sequences and downstream biological products. Genomics in health examines molecular mechanisms and the interplay of this molecular information, health interventions and environmental factors in disease;

More Definitions of Genomics

Genomics generally means the study of genomes, including sequenc- ing of the genomes, study of the genome structure and analysis of the function of genome. It can also refer to the study of recombinations in genomes, i.e. traces of the past, interactions between ancestral organisms that gave rise to the observed genomes.
Genomics includes but is not limited to genotyping, SNP discovery, and DNA sequence analysis, and services associated with providing these analyses.

  • Cannabis means all parts of the plant Cannabis sativa Linnaeus, Cannabis indica, or Cannabis ruderalis, whether growing or not; the seeds thereof; the resin, whether crude or purified, extracted from any part of the plant; and every compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of the plant, its seeds, or resin. “Cannabis” also means the separated resin, whether crude or purified, obtained from cannabis. “Cannabis” does not include the mature stalks of the plant, fiber produced from the stalks, oil or cake made from the seeds of the plant, any other compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of the mature stalks (except the resin extracted therefrom), fiber, oil, or cake, or the sterilized seed of the plant which is incapable of germination. For the purpose of this division, “cannabis” does not mean “industrial hemp” as defined by Section 11018.5 of the Health and Safety Code. Cannabis and the term “marijuana” may be used interchangeably.
