Genetically Modified definition

Genetically Modified. (GMO) means a living organism whose genetic material has been altered, changing one or more of its characteristics.
Genetically Modified in relation to an organism, shall mean an organism whose genetic code has been altered by the insertion of a recombinant or otherwise exogenous nucleic acid (whether or not similar or identical to a sequence contained in the genome of the naturally occurring organism), using the techniques of genetic engineering.
Genetically Modified. , in relation to an organism, means an organism that possesses a novel combination of genetic material obtained through the use of modern biotechnology, and includes combinations of genetically modified organisms;
