Functional Testing definition

Functional Testing means testing to demonstrate, and providing documentation verifying, that a component, system or sub-system is able to operate for its intended purpose, complies with the Technical Requirements and the Final Design, and is ready to proceed to Systems Operational Testing;
Functional Testing means operational tests of a System which occur after Mechanical Completion and which verify that the controls for a System are tested, tuned and operate efficiently and that a System works properly and as designed in accordance with the specifications and is ready for Acceptance Testing and for normal and continuous operation.
