Free Standing Clinic definition
Free Standing Clinic means a clinic or other facility wherein patients are treated by a nurse practitioner, which is more than seventy-five (75) miles away from the primary office of the collaborative/consultative physician. Excluded from this definition are all licensed hospitals, state health department facilities, federally qualified community health clinics and volunteer clinics.
Free Standing Clinic means a facility providing medical or medically related clinic outpatient services or clinic off-site services by or under the direction of a physician or dentist and the facility is not part of, or related to, a hospital. Such facilities provide mental health, rehabilitation, dental and medical services and are subject to Sections 171 through

Free Standing Clinic means a clinic or other facility wherein patients are treated by a nurse practitioner, which is more than fifteen (15) miles away from the primary office of the collaborative/consultative physician. Excluded from this definition are all licensed hospitals, state health department facilities, federally qualified community health clinics and volunteer clinics. “Physician” means any person licensed to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine in the state of Mississippi who holds an unrestricted license or whose practice or prescriptive authority is not limited as a result of voluntary surrender or legal/regulatory order.

Code Ann. §73-15-5, and who is nationally certified as an advanced practice registered nurse or in a specialized nursing practice, including certified nurse midwives (CNM), certified nurse anesthetists (CRNA), clinical nurse specialists (CNS), certified nurse practitioners (CNP) and doctors of nursing practice (DNP).
