Formal Written Warning definition

Formal Written Warning. A written warning is given when a staff member has not satisfactorily corrected a problem as outlined during the verbal warning. A written warning may also be the initial step in cases of a more serious nature.
Formal Written Warning means a written warning issued by the Discipline Manager in accordance with clause 14.24.

Examples of Formal Written Warning in a sentence

  • In cases where it is alleged that serious and gross misconduct has occurred, or where further misconduct is complained of after a Formal Written Warning has been given to student by the Head of Department, the student will be invited to attend a hearing.

  • After hearing the student’s case, the Head of Department may decide to issue a Stage 3 Formal Written Warning or may decide that no disciplinary action is appropriate.

  • A Formal Written Warning is to be given to the Employee if the contents of the reprimand letter are not met.

  • Any Stage 3 Formal Written Warning will give clear reasons for the decision and will state that any further repeated or similar misconduct by the student may result in the student’s formal suspension or expulsion from the College.

  • The Formal Written Warning may be issued as a Final Written Warning according to the circumstances.
