forested area means an area of crown forest identified in the VRI as contributing to the forest management land base, as indicated by the Forest Management Land Base Indicator attribute. This attribute indicates whether a polygon is forested or has been forested and is capable of producing a stand of trees. Polygons classified as lakes, rock, alpine, shrub and wetland are not considered forested area.
