Food Testing definition

Food Testing means the field of use comprising the in vitro measurement, observation, or determination of one or more protein or nucleic acid targets of an organism in a sample obtained from food and/or sources of food intended for human consumption in order to determine whether or not that food is fit for consumption.
Food Testing means the analysis of food, including a living animal committed to the human or animal food chain, for the purpose of quality assurance or quality control of such food, or for the purpose of identifying, characterizing, defining or diagnosing a disease state solely for the purpose of determining the safety or suitability for consumption of such food.
