Focus schools definition
Focus schools means schools that have a low performing subgroup of students using measures of student academic achievement and growth in the aggregate or for such subgroups over time, including any period of time prior to July 1, 2014.
Focus schools means, in accordance with the definition provided in the Action Plan (page 44):
Examples of Focus schools in a sentence
In the 2022-2023 school year, six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) will be allocated for distribution to up to a total of seven (7) Focus schools.
The District shall include capacities provided through regional or state sources (such as MI Excel services for Priority and Focus schools) as well as capacities that are planned for or anticipated as a result of externally funded grants and programs, including the School Improvement Grant program administered by the Michigan Department of Education (“MDE”).
