FLOOR, GROUND definition

FLOOR, GROUND means the lowest storey of a building, approximately at or first above the finished grade level.
FLOOR, GROUND or “ground floor” means the base level of a building accessible from public walkways or sidewalks that is typically at or within 3 feet of sidewalk grade level. Building levels below the sidewalk level are not considered ground floors.
FLOOR, GROUND means the floor located closest to the ground plane as indicated on the elevation plans or as otherwise determined by the Addressing Authority;

  • Underground area means an underground room, such as a basement, cellar, shaft or vault, providing enough space for physical inspection of the exterior of the tank situated on or above the surface of the floor.

  • Underground facility means any item which shall be buried or placed below ground for use in connection with the storage or conveyance of water, sewage, electronic, telephone or telegraphic communications, electric energy, oil, gas or other substances, and shall include, but not be limited to pipes, sewers, conduits, cables, valves, lines, wires, manholes, attachments and those portions of poles and their attachments below ground.

  • Landing area means that part of a movement area intended for the landing or take-off of aircraft;

  • Underground injection means the subsurface emplacement of fluids through a bored, drilled or driven well; or through a dug well, where the depth of the dug well is greater than the largest surface dimension. (See also “injection well”.)

  • Underground tank means a device meeting the definition of tank whose entire surface area is totally below the surface of and covered by the ground.
