Notwithstanding the foregoing, any notice to Holders of Floating Rate Securities regarding the determination of a periodic rate of interest, if such notice is required pursuant to Section 2.03, shall be sufficiently given if given in the manner specified pursuant to Section 2.03.
If the applicable due date for payment (other than the maturity date) on the Floating Rate Securities is not a Business Day, the applicable due date for payment will be moved to the next succeeding day which is a Business Day, unless such Business Day is in the next succeeding month, in which case the applicable due date for payment shall be moved to the immediately preceding Business Day.
In the event that the maturity date on the Floating Rate Securities is not a Business Day, payment will be made on the next succeeding day which is a Business Day and no interest on such payment shall accrue for the period from and after the maturity date.
Interest on Floating Rate Securities, except as otherwise set forth therein, will be calculated on the basis of actual days elapsed and a year of 360 days, except that in the case of a CMT Rate Security, a Treasury Rate Security, or a floating rate security for which the CMT Rate or the Treasury Rate is an applicable base rate, interest will be calculated on the basis of the actual number of days in the year.
The Issuer and Japan reserve the right to appoint, at their discretion, agents (one or more “Agents”, or each, an “Agent”) for the payment of principal of and interest on the Securities (the “Principal Paying Agent”), for the calculation of interest rates and the amounts of interest on the Floating Rate Securities (the “Calculation Agent”) or for the transfer and exchange of Securities (the “Transfer Agent”) at such place or places as the Issuer may determine.
