• In order to maintain the necessary skills as a Critical Care Float Pool Nurse, a good faith effort will be made to ensure that RNs in this float pool will be assigned to critical care or on the house as much as possible.

• A Float Pool Nurse is a Nurse who is subject to clinical qualifications and works in various units through the Hospital based on his or her clinical experience.

• A full time Float Pool Nurse is a registered nurse who works full time hours between more than one (1) unit, program or site in the Corporation.

• Prior to transferring to a Tier 2 Float Pool Nurse position, a Nurse must have two four (24) years of clinical experience.

• A full time ER/CCU Float Pool Nurse is a registered nurse who works full time hours between the Emergency Room and/or Critical Care Units in the Corporation.

• It is understood that a Float Pool or ER/CCU Float Pool or ER/CCU Float Pool Nurse assigned to such vacancy shall not be considered as a “float nurse” for the purpose of Article D.15.

• For the purposes of re-assignment it is understood that where a Float Pool Nurse is assigned to a unit and a nurse must be redeployed from that unit to another, the tfloat Pool nurse will be the nurse to be re-assigned.
