Flexible Spending definition

Flexible Spending means the cost of providing supports to clients, family members, and their caregivers including cash payments, vouchers, goods services, items necessary for daily living (such as food, clothing, hygiene, etc.), travel, transportation, respite services for caregivers and other supports. This does not include housing supports and capital expenditures or the salaries and benefits of staff used to provide client flexible supports.

Examples of Flexible Spending in a sentence

  • For the Health Flexible Spending Account, you must submit claims no later than 90 days after the end of the Plan Year.

  • For the Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, you must submit claims no later than 90 days after the end of the Plan Year.

  • You may save more money if you take advantage of this tax credit rather than using the Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account under our Plan.

  • You can elect to continue your participation in the Health Flexible Spending Account for the remainder of the Plan Year, subject to the following conditions.

  • You may not change your election under the Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account if the cost change is imposed by a dependent care provider who is your relative.

  • The law places limits on the amount of money that can be paid to you in a calendar year from your Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account.

  • The expenses you incur during the time you are not in the Health Flexible Spending Account are not reimbursable.

  • You will only be reimbursed from the Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account to the extent that there are sufficient funds in the Account to cover your request.

  • If you are going into or returning from military service, you may have special rights to health care coverage under your Health Flexible Spending Account under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994.

  • However, you will be able to submit claims for health care expenses that were incurred before the end of the period for which payments to the Health Flexible Spending Account have already been made.

  • Medical flexible spending arrangement means a benefit plan

  • Hospitalization means admission in a Hospital for a minimum period of 24 consecutive ‘In- patient Care’ hours except for specified procedures/ treatments, where such admission could be for a period of less than 24 consecutive hours.

  • Parent Plans has the meaning set forth in Section 6.4(c).

  • EAP means the Employee Assistance Program offered through the City and County of San Francisco.

  • Dental means of or relating to the teeth and the work of a dentist.

  • Procurement Plan means the Recipient’s procurement plan for the Project, dated April 2, 2010, and referred to in paragraph 1.16 of the Procurement Guidelines and paragraph 1.24 of the Consultant Guidelines, as the same shall be updated from time to time in accordance with the provisions of said paragraphs.

  • Seller 401(k) Plan has the meaning set forth in Section 5.5(e).

  • Company 401(k) Plan has the meaning set forth in Section 6.4(e).

  • Parent Plan has the meaning set forth in Section 7.8(b).

  • Indigent means a person who is not financially able to employ counsel.

  • Nursing Care Plan means a plan of care developed by a nurse that describes the medical, nursing, psychosocial, and other needs of a child and how those needs shall be met. The Nursing Care Plan includes which tasks shall be taught, assigned, or delegated to the qualified provider or family.

  • Long-term care insurance means group insurance that is authorized by the retirement system for retirants, retirement allowance beneficiaries, and health insurance dependents, as that term is defined in section 91, to cover the costs of services provided to retirants, retirement allowance beneficiaries, and health insurance dependents, from nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health care providers, adult day care providers, and other similar service providers.

  • Scholarship means a Scholarship as set out in Rule C 3 (a) (i) of the rules of The FA.

  • Flexible vinyl adhesive means an aerosol adhesive designed to bond flexible vinyl to substrates. Flexible vinyl means a nonrigid polyvinyl chloride plastic with at least five percent, by weight, of plasticizer content. A plasticizer is a material, such as a high boiling point organic solvent, that is incorporated into a vinyl to increase its flexibility, workability, or distensibility, and may be determined using ASTM Method E260-91 or from product formulation data.

  • Health means physical or mental health; and

  • Buyer 401(k) Plan has the meaning set forth in Section 6.01(h).

  • Plans means all maps, drawings, sketches and layout as incorporated in the Contract in order to define broadly the scope and specifications of the work & works and all reproductions thereof.

  • Pay Plan means the scale of wages as contained in the attached Appendix “A” and the rules governing its application, as per Article 12.

  • Group long-term care insurance means a long-term care insurance policy which is delivered or issued for delivery in this State and issued to:

  • 401(k) Plan shall have the meaning set forth in Section 6.3(a).

  • STD means Sexually Transmitted Disease.

  • Parent 401(k) Plan has the meaning set forth in Section 6.6(e).

  • dependants for the purpose of definition, dependants are spouse, dependent children and anyone for whom the employee claims exemption on federal income tax returns;

  • Qualifying Educational Program means a program at a post-secondary school level of not less than three consecutive weeks duration that requires each student taking the program to spend not less than 10 hours per week on courses or work in that program.

  • SPECIALTY HOSPITAL means a hospital or the specialty unit of a general hospital that is licensed by the state. It must be designed to care for patients with injuries or special illnesses. This includes, but is not limited to, a long-term acute care unit, an acute mental health or acute short-term rehabilitation unit or hospital. Hospital does not mean: • convalescent home; • rest home; • nursing home; • home for the aged; • school and college infirmary; • residential treatment facility; • long-term care facility; • urgent care center or freestanding ambulatory surgical center; • facility providing mainly custodial, educational or rehabilitative care; or • a section of a hospital used for custodial, educational or rehabilitative care, even if accredited by the JCAHO or listed in the AHA directory.

  • Subsidy means the difference between the amount of periodic
