Flare-up definition
Flare-up means a temporary worsening of a pre-existing condition caused by a new injury for which a new employer or insurance carrier is responsible, but only until the condition returns to baseline and not thereafter. Compare with “aggravation,” Rule 2.1200, and “recurrence,” Rule 2.3900.
