First Serial Rights definition

First Serial Rights means the right to use all or any portion of the Work in the English language in newspapers, magazines and other periodicals (whether in one or more parts) before the date the Work is first available for sale to the public in book form, including the right to create for such use abridged, adapted and condensed versions of the work.
