Finished compost definition

Finished compost or "finished product" means compost that meets at least minimum requirements for public health, safety and environmental protection and is suitable for use as defined by compost quality standards or as approved by the Department.
Finished compost means the product of a composting mass that has met the minimum time and temperature requirements for the composting method chosen and satisfies the stability requirements and applicable quality assurance and testing requirements for finished compost found in Part III.F of this regulation.
Finished compost means the organic waste that has been composted and fully cured and is considered ready for sampling and testing for compliance with the compost quality criteria. Finished Compost is considered a waste until testing for the compost quality criteria is completed and compliance with the criteria is demonstrated.

Examples of Finished compost in a sentence

  • Finished compost shall be tested once each year, at a minimum, in accordance with monitoring and sampling plan established at Section III of this general approval.

  • Finished compost shall remain on site until the associated analytical results are received by the facility and a determination is made whether the finished product meets the required criteria set forth at 40 C.F.R. Part 503, specifically 40 C.F.R. 503.13(b)(3).

  • Finished compost may be stockpiled only in those locations identified on the approved site plan.
