Field Crew definition

Field Crew means the staff members of Town of Cochrane Parks and Open Spaces appointed by the Cemetery Administration to carry out the duties in the cemeteries necessary for maintenance, Burial, memorialization, and safety and all ongoing and project work necessary to the running of the cemeteries.

  • At the discretion of the Field Crew Chief, more intense pedestrian survey may occur in areas that are likely to have a higher potential to contain cultural materials on in areas where thick vegetation may obscure the ability to identify potential cultural materials, in order to ensure adequate coverage.

  • The Field Crew Supervisor oversees the Corps members, provides worksite supervision, mentorship, and guidance to Corps members and other workers and volunteers.

  • Transects spacing for crew members may be at the discretion of the Field Crew Chief but will be no more than 20 meters (m) (66 feet [ft]) apart and will be recorded on field forms or notebooks.

  • Field Crew Leaders do not have the authority to hire, fire, discipline employees, or recommend such actions.

  • Standardized forms will include the following: • Comprehensive site forms • Site maps • Logs of collected artifacts • Test logs and/or soil profiles • Excavation unit profiles, maps, and soil descriptions • Logs of historic artifacts left in the field • Photo logs • Daily logs In addition to the list above, the Field Crew Chief (and other crew members as appropriate) will also keep detailed notes of the activities and resources encountered each day.

  • A Field Canvasser, Field Trainer or Field Crew Leader will not be paid for any scheduled canvass day work if the day’s canvass is called off before the canvass work schedule begins.
