Subject to operational requirements, paid leave of absence shall be granted by the employer to an employee who is an active volunteer member of State Emergency Service, St John Ambulance Brigade, Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, Bush Fire Brigades, Volunteer Marine Rescue Services Groups or FESA Units, in order to allow for attendances at emergencies as declared by the recognised authority.
A reference in this Act to an officer or employee of the Authority, or to a person employed by the Authority, is a reference to a person appointed or engaged under section 20 of the FESA Act for the purposes of this Act.
Further transitional regulations may be made (1) If there is no sufficient provision in this Schedule for any matter or thing necessary or convenient to give effect to the purposes of this Schedule, that provision may be made by regulations under section 40 of the FESA Act.
