Feral Hog definition

Feral Hog means any species or hybrid of species from the family Suidae (European boar, Eurasian boar, Russian boar, feral hog) or the family Tayassuidae (Javelina and peccary), which possesses one or more morphological characteristic distinguishing it from domestic swine including, but not limited to, an elongated snout, visible tusks, muscular shoulders with small hams and short loins, coarse hair, or a predominant ridge of hair along its back. For the purposes of these regulations, any swine running at large which possesses one or more of the above characteristics, may be presumed to be a feral hog, unless a person has received actual notice that the swine has escaped containment and its return is actively sought, in which case the person should report its location to the owner, if known, and the Division and the Department of Agriculture.
Feral Hog commonly means any hog of the spe- cies Sus scrofa, including a Russian or European wild boar, which is roaming freely upon public or private land. Arkansas state law broadens the definition of feral hog to both the Suidae and Tayassuidae families of mammals. Those from the Suidae family include domestic swine, Russian boars and European boars.
