Fare collection system definition
Fare collection system means a system created and administered by a regional transit district that is used for collecting fares or providing fare cards or passes for public transit services including fixed-route bus service, paratransit bus service, rideshare programs, transportation services provided pursuant to section 249A.12, and light rail or commuter rail service.
Fare collection system. : means the automatic, electronic and/or intelligent system that allows the payment of the fare by the passenger using a personalized or non-personalized card of the Contracting Entity, or a credit/debit card, or an electronic purse on a smart phone or tablet.
Fare collection system or “FCS” means the ticketing system for the collection of Fares, or any other system by which it is replaced by GMCBL from time to time.
