Extinction definition

Extinction means the discontinuance of a reinforcer that has been maintaining a behavior (for example, when it is observed that an inappropriate behavior is maintained by staff attention, the plan may specify that staff shall not attend to that behavior). Extinction is not an aversive intervention.
Extinction means a Level I Intervention that withholds reinforcement from a previously reinforced behavior.
