Extended Illness definition

Extended Illness means more than three (3) consecutive workdays, including the day on which the holiday is celebrated, of injury leave, sick leave and/or disability leave.

Extended Illness means a state of incapacity due to personal illness or accidental bodily injury to a regular employee except for illness or accidental bodily injury incurred while self‐ employed or employed by other than the city, which requires the regular and personal attendance of a licensed physician and/or which prevents an employee from performing substantially all of the duties of his/her position. "Extended illness leave" is authorized absence from duty with pay granted regular employees who have successfully completed the probationary period of employment with the city and who become ill or disabled.
